The Education Department of Balochistan from pre partition to post partition era was looked after by Political Agent through Assistant Political Agent at Head quarter at Quetta, after the then the post of Director of Education at Provincial level and the post of Inspector of Schools at district level were created to look after all the institutions of Balochistan Province, the post of Inspector of Schools was re-designated as District Education Officer. In 1972 the Directorate of Education was divided into the Directorate of Education School/Colleges and Director of Education Bureau of Curriculum and Extension Centre, after then in 1982 the Directorate of Education School again divided into Directorate of Education Colleges and Directorate of Education Schools, after then subordinate Directorate was established at Divisional level, i.e. Directorate of Education Schools at Quetta, Sibi, Kalat, Zhob, Mekran, and Naseerabad.
Balochistan has a large number of out of school children, high dropout rates, wide gender disparities in education indicator and poor quality of teaching and learning in the class room, huge number of schools are shelter less and functioning with single teacher. The challenges require an organized response. The Director of Education Schools with his team to manage the prioritization, planning, execution, monitoring and review of education policies and strategies.
Education is passion of the Government and it take education as a mission on top priority basis, because it is the most effective weapon to combat illiteracy, ignorance, insecurity and resistance against change. The Government of Balochistan has assigned education the highest priority in its planning because it traces the roots of its slow development and weak education system. Now I with my team will best try to achieve the goals through better planning and road map which will help all the actors of development to play their role effectively and on a pre decided lines of action.
